  • 1st Year Trainee - Psychology

Jen Bradley is a 4th year doctoral student in Duquesne University’s Clinical Psychology Program. After graduating with honors from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Jen worked as a special needs assistant and an intensive behavioral intervention tutor providing ongoing behavioral, educational, and emotional support to three children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. This work experience inspired her to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a clinical and research interest working with children with special needs and their families.

Last year, Jen completed a practicum at the Matilda Theiss Therapeutic Preschool where she facilitated play therapy, developmental assessments, and created behavioral interventions for young children who experience a wide range of behavioral and emotional difficulties. Currently, Jen is in the process of designing and developing a trauma-informed playscape at a local early childhood center as a part of her doctoral thesis.

Jen is looking forward to her experience with LEND this year. In particular, Jen is excited to learn more about family-centered and interdisciplinary approaches to clinical care, and to further develop new and more effective ways to advocate for children with special needs and their families.
