Michael Hasis is a 2nd year Speech-Language Pathology Master’s student in the University of Pittsburgh’s Communication Science and Disorders department. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Kentucky in 2020. Throughout his high school and undergraduate career, Michael’s passion for working with individuals with disabilities grew, as his interest for advocacy developed. As a result, Michael enrolled in a variety of mentorship programs and become a site leader for service trips focusing on global youth empowerment.

Michael has had multiple clinical experiences working with children with disabilities. He has provided speech and language assessments and treatment for individuals with a wide range of disabilities. After completion of his Master’s Degree, Michael hopes to pursue a career in speech-language pathology working with the pediatric population. He would like to provide service and advocacy for individuals with disabilities and their families working either in the school system or in a pediatric hospital. Ultimately, Michael would love to found a non-profit, private practice to serve children from under-represented populations.
