Sarah Lapinski

  • 1st Year Trainee - Special Education

Sarah is a third-year doctoral student in the Special Education Program at the University of Pittsburgh.   Her research focus is on family-professional partnerships as well as transition to adulthood for individuals with autism.  She has a Master’s Degree in Early Intervention with autism specialization also from the University of Pittsburgh.  She also has her special education teaching certificate, regular education teaching certificate, and is working towards her Board-Certified Behavior Analysis Certificate.  

Sarah has dedicated the past 15 years to helping children with autism and their families.  She has worked in early intervention through college transition, and as a special education teacher and supervisor.  Sarah is also the parent of a child with autism.  She is excited to be a LEND trainee and further develop her leadership and critical thinking skills, as well as gain knowledge and experience in policy making, activism, and building community partnerships.
