Sydney Pece is a second year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Sports Studies from The Pennsylvania State University in 2020. While in high school, Sydney took interest in working with children through coaching youth softball teams and helping out with a Challenger Baseball league for children with physical and intellectual impairments. Throughout her undergraduate education, Sydney participated as a mentor at events through Life Link PSU, a program for special education students who have finished high school, that allows them to better integrate with the campus community. During her undergraduate education, Sydney also spent time observing pediatric physical therapists in numerous outpatient and school-based settings.

As a LEND trainee, Sydney hopes to build professional skills that will allow her to be a better advocate for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. She looks forward to building relationships with families, as well as her interdisciplinary team, and gaining leadership skills that will make her leader in the field of pediatric physical therapy.
