Trisha Cousins is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the state of Pennsylvania. She teaches HRS 2637: Practical Applications of MNT 1 and HRS 2638: Practical
Applications of MNT 2 in the CMD Program within the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition. In the DPD, she is the instructor for Nutrition Assessment 1 and Food Science 1 with corresponding lab. As the Clinical Coordinator for the CMD program, her responsibilities include the coordination of student supervised practice experiences within clinical placement sites, provides direction/supervision of Clinical Instructors, obtains clinical placement sites for student supervised practice experiences in independent
studies, clinical dietetics, food service management, and specialty rotations. She also develops and revises learning activities, assignments, evaluation techniques and student manuals for supervised practice courses. Cousins plans the curriculum, coordinates, and team-teach supervised practice preparation courses. Her service to the University and Department include serving on the SHRS Clinical Coordinator Committee, SHRS Clinical and Community-based Education Committee, and SHRS Nominating Committee. Cousins is currently developing a maternal and pediatric nutrition specialty area and course work for the Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is currently a doctoral student in the University of Pittsburgh, School of Education with an area of concentration in Health and Physical Activity.
