Marie Angelli (Gelli) Ortiz is a second-year graduate student in the Doctor of Audiology program at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2018. Throughout her undergraduate career, Gelli worked as a Registered Behavior Technician providing Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In 2019, she attended the University of Washington for a one-year post-baccalaureate program, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences. While completing her post-baccalaureate program, she found her passion for audiology and maintained her desire to continue working with children who have developmental disabilities.

Gelli is excited to be a LEND trainee with the University of Pittsburgh for the 2021-2022 academic year. Through LEND, she is able to merge her two passions that she discovered during her undergraduate career. She aspires to be a pediatric audiologist who specializes in serving children with developmental disabilities and their families. Gelli has a deep commitment to work in an interdisciplinary field that revolves around creating positive, lasting changes in the lives of individuals with special needs, which are goals shared by all professionals in the LEND program. She looks forward to the opportunities ahead and growing her leadership skills, while working closely with other professionals to support children and their families.
