Heather Zak an active member in the special needs community.  She is the proud mother and full time caregiver to boy/girl twins whom were born with several disabilities.  The journey she has been on to help her children thrive has led her to become aware of the needs of other parents and is driving her passion to help others.

Heather currently is a core team member of a special needs parent networking group in her school district. She is a member of various special needs groups and often attends community seminars regarding various disability topics. Heather has been involved in various fundraising and awareness events, including Autism Speaks, Apraxia Kids and St. Baldrick’s cut-a-thon.

Heather has experience in leadership as a restaurant manager and experience coordinating budgets and events as a project coordinator for a construction company. Heather joined LEND in August 2018 in hopes to learn more about advocacy to become a more effective leader within the community.
