Tal Levin-Decanini, PhD, DNP, RN

Tal Levin-Decanini, PhD, DNP, is a Senior Advanced Practice Provider in the Department of Palliative Medicine and Supportive Care, and Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee and Consult Service, at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. 

She earned her PhD in Computational Neuroscience at the University of Chicago and completed post-doctoral research at the University of Illinois at Chicago on pediatric anxiety disorders and autism. She received her BSN and DNP from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, with a focus on caring for children with complex medical needs. Dr. Levin-Decanini also completed the Certificate Program in Pediatric Bioethics from Children's Mercy Center for Bioethics at Children's Mercy Kansas City. 

Dr. Levin-Decanini provides care for children with special healthcare needs in the Complex Care Center at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her clinical and research interests include pediatric bioethics, as well as healthcare outcomes for children with medical complexity.
