LEND Program Coordinator, Amy Wetmore, spent her last Friday of September lending a hand to a great cause. Plum Boroough School District's Pivik Elementary built an accessible playground thanks to a KaBOOm grant and the Allegheny County Habitat for Humanity.
"It was an amazing experience," says Wetmore. With volunteers from the community and Duquesne Light Co., teams assembled, painted, and created a new playground in a day. The new playground is ADA compliant, and features more sensory-friendly options.
