Andrea Obah is a doctoral student studying Counseling Psychology at Carlow University. She also serves as an adjunct instructor within Carlow’s Criminology Department. In Pittsburgh, Andrea has worked with a local non-profit organization to help lower income families obtain quality educational and vocational opportunities. She has served as a therapist in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and college counseling centers throughout Allegheny County. In non-profit and community settings, she has engaged with diverse populations of all ages, including survivors of intimate partner violence, people who have been incarcerated, and individuals belonging to sexual and gender minority groups. Prior to her studies as a doctoral student in Pittsburgh, Andrea gained clinical and research experience with individuals with motor challenges while working as a Clinical Research Assistant at the University of Maryland-Baltimore, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science.

After finishing her doctoral degree, Andrea hopes to continue working with interdisciplinary teams within a hospital setting. She is interested in how LEND’s focus on helping individuals in marginalized communities who have neurodevelopmental disabilities will inform her future clinical practice and broader professional path.
